Vincent Dalschaert

Dalschaert Vincent was born in Brussels, although of Flemish origins he speaks French. Vincent arrives in Italy brought by his family when he was still a child. His primary dedication was the study of occidental music: he studies cello, piano, contrabass, bassoon and guitar. He later takes pleasure in studying contemporary composition inspired by forefront artist making him passionate of free jazz at a young age. His first experiences as a musician occurred with a jazz group in which he played the bassoon. At a later date he will play with a group of experimental rock and will tour Germany. His period adjacent to this experience saw him as a bassist in different groups from punk to new wave. This bloomed in the production of a melodic punk album with the collaboration of Giacomo Spazio. Like all eclectic minds, his musical tastes are so widespread that they range from classical music; Beethoven, Bach and Schubert to 70’s French music, especially the likes of Gainsbourg, Brel and Montand. His talent exploded in the last year fueled by his growing passion toward electronic music and composition but especially the art of sampling. It is during this period that he starts collaborating with The Dining Rooms and is author of the track “Verso il sole” from “Numero Deux”. His re-mix of “Speak in to the microphone” by the dining rooms has been chosen in the playlist for the new ep. At the moment he is participating in the production of the third Dining rooms’ album of which we get a taste on “Existentialism” released on Break n’ Bossa 5 where he plays keyboards. This musical proximity to The Dining Rooms has lead Stefano Ghittoni to encourage Vincent to put his creativity at work. The result is “Specularnotion”; first solo album by Dalschaert due for release on Milano 2000 in 2002
