Neos

Neos was born in 1995 by the casual meeting between DJ Bruno Bolla and the saxophonist Gianni Bedori during a series of transmissions about jazz on Rai Stero 2. A friendship and an idea come to be: to create a group uniting their own experiences with those of Gerardo Frisina, passionate and qualified jazz expert and Luigi Bonafede refined pianist and session-man. This also marks the start of the extremely fruitful collaboration between Schema and Gerardo Frisina. Luigi conveyed indications for the choice of the other elements of the "Combo". The collaboration features in fact two young musicians from Turin, Aldo Mella playing bass, and Enzo Zinnisi on drums, the Brazilian percussionist Gilson Silveira and the vocalists Barbara Casini and Rhonda Moore. The point was to create and propose a sound that was inspired by jazz, though at the same time allow to express the artists' individuality, and as a group. In "Indefinita Atmosfera" there is a philosophy, exploration of the musical planet in all its tones touching the four cardinal points: North; East; West(Ovest) and South, sailing between melodies and rhythms.
