If possible, Madreblu has greatly increased the appeal for their music and their music making with this second album entitled “Necessità ”. Their style and the album are not that easy to describe without falling into banal comments. What can be said is, like I have read somewhere, is that the album conserves a brilliant equilibrium between “synthetic & organic” sound. This struck me since it is how Madreblu conceives music making, approaching music itself in a simple, almost in an old fashioned manner, having the entire vision of their pieces before they actually start recording for what is necessary is a guitar and a voice.
The album alternates songs with a more electro pop-rock influence like “Bargiallo”, “Primanotte”, and “Necessità ” to ballads such as the wonderful “Certamente” to the pulsating beats and violins of “La Vera Entità ” and the ethereal chorus of “L’Amore Sfiorato”.
“Necessità ” represents a take off for the duo. While the first album “Prima dell’Alba” represented the effort of getting off the ground, not being distracted by others or by our own distractions.
Translated to music this is the effort to put more in focus their own identity through their creations. The creations are the result of the personal exchange between the two artists; writing lyrics for music and music for lyrics.
The album has been released by Emi Music Italy under license.
“Certamente” was licensed to the Sony Music for the soundtrack of the TV series
“The Soprano’s II”.
